Registration for the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Congress 2027, the world’s largest international gathering of nurses, opened today on our Congress Website!

The 31st ICN Congress will take place from 8–11 July 2027 in Taipei, hosted in partnership with TWNA. We are proud to announce that we have received more than 10,000 abstract submissions from across the world, a very promising start to what will be a successful Congress!

The Congress theme, “Empowered Nurses: New Horizons Transforming Health and Care”, recognizes the leadership of nurses in shaping the future of health and care. Delegates will share evidence and experience, build connections across countries and specialties, and explore how nurses can lead change in health systems and communities.

ICN President Dr José Luis Cobos Serrano invited nurses to register, saying:

“Empowerment is at the heart of this Congress. Nurses see every day what needs to change in health and care, and they have the knowledge and leadership to make it happen. In Taipei, we will bring our global nursing community together to exchange ideas, learn from one another and turn that shared strength into action. I invite nurses from every region to join us.”

Congress sessions will address leading health system transformation; patient safety and quality in people-centred care; practice innovation and emerging care models; nursing education and lifelong learning; workforce wellbeing; safe and equitable care in humanitarian and emergency contexts; digital transformation, including data, robotics and AI; global health priorities; and ethics and professional regulation.

TWNA President Dr Mei-Nan Liao added:

“It will be a great pleasure to welcome nurses from around the world to Taipei. We look forward to sharing the energy and experience of our nursing community while learning from colleagues across every region. This Congress is an opportunity to build friendships, exchange practical ideas and strengthen what we can achieve together for the people we serve.”

Registration includes access to all Congress sessions, networking opportunities, Congress materials and resources, the exhibition area, lunch and coffee breaks, and the Opening Ceremony on 8 July. Eligible students may add access to the Student Assembly to their Congress registration.

The Student Assembly, a transformative day-long event designed to equip student and early career nurses with the tools to drive change in global health and the nursing profession, takes place on 7 July, and connects student and early career nurses with each other and with global nurse leaders, enabling them to build networks and exchange ideas.

The aim of this event is for attendees to gain actionable insights on leading and innovating in global health, skills to promote well-being within the profession, and a powerful platform to amplify the role of student and early career nurses worldwide. To register for Student Assembly, select it as an add-on during your registration to Congress. Alternatively, you may add it to your Congress registration any time after you register.

ICN encourages delegates to register early and allow time to make travel arrangements. Early-bird registration is available until 28 February 2027.
