Message from the candidate

Dileep Kumar, President, Indian Nursing Council, Ex-Project Director, GFATM Programme and Ex-Nursing Adviser to the Government of India.  He is having long standing 43 years of experience in Nursing. 

 

He has worked as a Staff Nurse, Nursing Tutor, Nursing Superintendent, Deputy Nursing Adviser and Nursing Adviser to Govt. of India. 

 

He was Member of Global Advisory Group on Nursing and Midwifery of WHO.

 

He was bestowed with the prestigious 2023 Princess Srinagarindra Awarded by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The award for his unwavering dedication to the field of Nursing and his contributions to the Indian Nursing Council over a career spanning nearly half a century

 

He developed Schemes at the National Level

  • - Capacity of Building of Nursing Educational Institution
  • - Continuing Education for Nursing and Midwifery Professionals
  • - Upgrading schools of Nursing in to college of Nursing.
  • - Revival of National Awards for Nursing and Midwifery Professionals by the President of India.
  • - Instrumental for Enhanced Budget from Rs. 80 crores ($16 million dollar) in X plan (2002-2007) to Rs. 3200 crores ($620 million dollars) towards Development of Nursing Services for XI plan (2007-2012)


As President of National Regulatory Body he initiated following schemes:

  • - Development of quality assurance Model in Nursing,
  • - National consortium for Ph.D in Nursing,
  • - Developed one year Post Basic Diploma Syllabus for specialties and concept of Residency format introduced.
  • - Signed MRA with Singapore Nursing Board.
  • - Modules on reaching out in Emergency and development
  • - Training of Nurses in HIV/AIDS.
  • - Implementation of Global Fund for Aids, Tuber clauses & Maleria trained 1,50,000 Nursing Professionals.
  • - Responsible to make India as a Member of International Council of Nurses (ICN)
  • - Signed an MoU with BRICS
  • - Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care as Post Graduate Residency Care
  • - Nurses Registration and Tracking System  (Live Register)
  • - Establishment of National Reference Simulation Centre (NRSC) in Collaboration with JHPIEGO, Laerdal and SGT University in Gurugram. (Delhi)
  • - Responsible to become Member of Alliance of Asian Nurses’ Associations (AANA).
