The International Nurses Day 2026 webinar series was a global moment to celebrate nursing and a platform to showcase this year's theme - Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.

These webinars launched the IND 2026 report, which presents clear evidence that the power of nursing is real, measurable, and transformative. The report identifies seven key powers of nursing, all of which deliver significant improvements in health outcomes, access and safety of care, and health system resilience. It also sets out a practical agenda for empowerment, based on safe and supportive working environments, recognition, and strengthened leadership and influence: what is needed to enable nurses to use their powers to the fullest and maximize their impact on health systems and societies. The report brings together data, real nursing experiences, and ICN’s work empowering nurses to date.

The three webinar sessions spotlighted the voices of real nurses, demonstrating how the multidimensional "powers" of nursing translate into real-world impact. By connecting evidence, experience, and leadership voices across regions, the webinars showed the full multidimensional power and impact of nursing - and presented the actions needed to empower nurses as the path to health for all.
