ICN has partnered with the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA) to launch a new online platform and mobile app for continuing professional development training resources in Leadership, Management, Advocacy, Teamwork as well as free COVID-19 resources. The app is available in English, French and Spanish.

The online platform and mobile app are available free of charge to ICN member organisations in low- and middle-income countries. The courses include COVID-19 resources from the Aga Khan University, Jhpiego, and other organisations, as well as CPD courses that have been peer reviewed as fit for purpose for Africa and other developing regions. 15-20 new courses are added each month to add depth and variety to the courses.

Exceptionally during this pandemic, NNAs in higher-income countries can download the mobile app free of charge to access free COVID-19 resources provided by NHS and Health Education England.

Click here for the free CPD platform or download the mobile app. Select your country to access resources approved and certified by your national association.

The Namibian Nursing Association (NNA) was the first to test the service. Dr Ndapeua N. Shifiona, NNA President said:

“WCEA opened up opportunities for Namibian nurses to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge through online courses. Through this platform, interactivity and network opportunities for all are generated. Namibian nurses embrace with open arms technological solutions and appreciate WCEA initiative for introducing to us this new education platform and mobile applications. The online platform will offer greater opportunities for nurses and midwives in Namibia to have access to both local and international updates. Through participation in the online courses, Namibian nurses are enabled to bridge the educational gap with regards to current health related updates. NNA greatly appreciate this initiative and would like to thank WCEA and ICN on this and NNA shall remain forever grateful.”
