In order to widened access to its international Congress to be held in Montreal, Canada, 1-5 July, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) is offering a selection of Congress sessions via a virtual platform, known as “Spotlight on Congress”.

Recognising that travel has become more difficult and expensive for many people around the world, and that nurses’ time is in great demand, the global organisation representing nurses has launched “Spotlight on Congress” in order to open up access to nurses unable to attend the Congress in person.

The “Spotlight on Congress” package includes:

  • Choice of three plenary sessions and Choice of two regional sessions
  • Access to the Opening Ceremony, final plenary and Closing Ceremony, as well as the e-poster gallery
  • Certificate of participation

Available in English, French and Spanish these live sessions will also be recorded so participants can watch them later in the “Watch Again” section of the platform for up to six months.

ICN Chief Executive Officer Howard Catton said:

“We know that shortages, workloads and the demands on health systems around the world mean that many nurse are unfortunately unable to join the ICN Congress in person. In response to requests, we have created a way for these nurse to join over 5,000 of their colleagues attending the Congress experience by offering a slice of the live action.

Attending an ICN Congress is an amazing and exciting opportunity to network, learn and share with nursing and other health experts from around the world. The Montreal Congress promises to be a unique experience, but we know not everyone is able to attend. We hope this virtual option will provide a small taste of that experience!”

Registration to ”Spotlight on Congress” is available here.
