Dr Gill Adynski (Consultant)

Policy Analyst 

PhD, MHS, RN, CGNC

Dr Adynski is a doctorly prepared nurse researcher with expertise in global health workforces, health policy and health system strengthening. Within ICN, they work on gender equity, climate change, student groups, advanced practice nurses, and other nursing policy topics. Gill completed their doctoral education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill through the Hillman Scholars Program in Nursing Innovation. Their dissertation focused on nurse staffing and nurses’ attitudes towards their job relationship with HIV outcomes in rural health facilities in northern Namibia. During this time, Gill also led data analysis for midterm and final evaluations for non-profit organisation, IntraHealth International, for their USAID HIV Clinical Services Technical Assistance Project. Gill has also worked with the Nursing Now Campaign to help complete background research for the report Investing in the Power of Nurse Leadership: What Will it Take?

After completing their PhD, they were accepted through competitive application to be a postdoctoral fellow with the National Clinician Scholars Program at Duke University (historically the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program). During this two-year post-doctoral fellowship, Gill completed a Master’s in Health Sciences in Clinical Research where they developed skills in cost benefit analysis, longitudinal analysis, machine learning for data science, health finance and other data analysis for health services research. They are a Certified Global Nurse Consultant.

Gill has served as a Nursing and Health Policy Analyst at ICN since June 2022.
