Karine Lavoie is a distinguished global health care leader with a passion for nursing development, who recently joined ICN as Head of Partnerships and Programmes Development, working with ICN’s 135 national nursing associations members globally to deliver programme and partnership initiatives that further the cause of nursing through advocacy and improved health care practices and patient care.

With a strategic and innovative mindset, Karine has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of health care education and steering transformative initiatives in various health care organizations. As a Nursing Program Innovator and Coordinator in academia, Karine crafted pioneering curricula for nurses and established multiple simulation centres as global benchmarks. Her unwavering commitment to enhancing safety for health care professionals has been a cornerstone of her endeavours. Karine is driven by a keen interest in refining health care environments, leveraging technology and research to optimize existing health care systems, always guided by a vision of continual improvement and a commitment to maximizing effective and efficient health care outcomes.
